I love creating small, practical accessories for kids, and this handmade toddler crossbody bag has quickly become one of my favorite projects. It’s cute, colorful, and perfect for little girls who love carrying their treasures around — whether it’s a toy, a snack, or something they found on a walk.
Over the past two weeks, whenever I had the time, I sewed several of these adorable toddler crossbody bags, and I’m so excited to finally share one of them with you!
This handmade toddler crossbody bag is crafted from colorful cotton canvas featuring playful pink, blue, and yellow shapes — a vibrant retro-inspired print that instantly brings joy. It includes a practical front pocket with a snap button, a secure flap with a magnetic closure, and a soft cotton lining. The strap is adjustable, allowing the bag to grow with your child and be worn crossbody or over the shoulder.
This handmade toddler crossbody bag is also a great gift idea for birthdays or first outings. It’s soft but structured, and the adjustable strap means it grows with your child.
With a finished size of 21 cm (8.3″) wide by 15 cm (5.9″) high, it’s lightweight, structured, and just the right size for little hands to carry everyday treasures in style.
This project is ideal as a handmade birthday gift or for first outings, daycare, or simply as a unique and stylish accessory for your little one. The bag is easy to wear and adds a charming, personal touch to any toddler’s outfit.
I found this beautiful cotton fabric at Mister Stoff, and it was perfect for this project!
